Wow! It's been a while...

So we haven't done a great job on the "regular" updates.  But we'll get a little caught up here.  Since the last post, we've had Halloween, Thanksgiving, J-P's birthday, Christmas, New Years, J-P & Andrea's Anniversary, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Andrea's birthday, and Easter (okay, so MLK Day and President's Day too, but don't know if there are any others...).

We spent Thanksgiving in Sacramento with some friends after J-P played football in the morning (not his best day as he lost his wedding band and injured in left rotator cuff with a deep contusion).  All three of us were able to spend the two and a half weeks in Seattle before Christmas through after New Years.  We managed to fly in to Seattle during a brief respite from the snow storms, and Caleb got his first experience with the white stuff.

Things were moving along until February 12th when we found out that J-P's employer, USAA, would be closing their office in Sacramento and offering relocation to employees that would like to stay with the company.  We have elected to relocate with the company and will be moving back to Phoenix.  Jesus has been so gracious to us with a very generous relocation package from USAA, real estate and cash assistance in selling our house in Sacramento, a moving company
to pack up the house and move our belongings to Phoenix, and a very fast 6 day sale of our Sacramento home with a full price offer.  We are grateful to see how Jesus in intimately involved in the details of our lives.

We went to Phoenix to visit at the end of March.  Andrea's sister's family (Micah and Jenn, and their daughters Annelise and Lisette) and mother, Sue, were also down, and Andrea's grandmother, Rosemary still lives in Phoenix, so we were able to see a whole lot of family with that trip.  One of the highlights for J-P while in Phoenix was going the Caleb's first baseball game, a Mariner's spring training game, and Andrea.  It was a beautiful day, though a little breezy (the breeze was actually nice since we haven't been living in the furnace of Phoenix for two and a half years).
Andrea and Caleb stayed an extra week and had some great time with Sue and Rosemary, so that was a special treat for everyone.

Caleb is growing by the moment and we are constantly amazed at how intricately God designs each of us as we watch him develop.
Caleb longs to walk, though does not yet have the balance and coordination, but he is getting better and better at holding himself up.  Watch out as he'll be getting around in no time.  He has cut a his bottom 2 middle teeth, and is working on his top 4 middle teeth (I don't know what they are all called).  He makes the most adorable faces,  but anytime he catches you trying to inspect or take a picture/video of them he closes his  mouth.  It's pretty funny.  Sooner or later he'll have a whole mouth of teeth and it won't seem so interesting, but such is life.

We leave Sacramento with mixed emotions as we leave behind amazing relationships, church, community, and a beautiful part of the country to live in.  However, we have seen in every step of this process that God is clearly directing these events, so we look with eager anticipation for what He is going to do in and through our family in the coming months and years.  Our home in Sacramento is set to close Thursday May 7th, and the movers coming Monday to pack and Tuesday to load the truck.  Andrea and Caleb will fly to Phoenix on Wednesday, and J-P will come down as soon after as USAA will allow since he has requested to move earlier than his official report date in June since the house sold so quickly, but we shall see how it all plays out.

We pray that all is well with each family and friend that keeps up with us and pray that our risen Savior, Jesus Christ, will be manifested in and glorified through each of you.  Take care!

Caleb's first 2 months

Well, its about a week late, but I intend to regularly post about Caleb's accomplishments and activities for the month, as my good friend Lariate has dilligently done for almost two years.  I will put some pictures here, but the bulk of them will still be on picassa so you can download the ones you want.He hit two months on the 14th, and has been so busy!

He smiles brightly for Mamma, especially first thing in the morning, which helps make waking up easier!  He is also quite the talker.  He coos and gaga's often.  We have wonderful conversations that I don't understand but help me get to know him so much better.

Caleb is extremely strong.  The nurses said so when he was born, and nothing has changed.  He could pull is head back at birth and now he can pretty much hold his head on his own.  We have to be very careful since he looses his strength now and then, but he is quite amazing.  Although he hates tummy time, he can push himself way up on his arms.  He also enjoys standing on our laps and "jumping" up and down.

I don't know where he gets it, but he is growning like a beanpole.  He was a modest 20" at birth but I think he's over 25" now.  I'll give the official measurement next week when we go to the Dr.  He's also over 13 lbs., but doesn't look that fat, except in his face.  I think its all the length and muscle!

Here he is at about 2 weeks and then 2 months in his swaddler we fondly refer to as his straight jacket.  He loves having his arms free, but when he does he wakes himself up!  So we literally have to keep him from getting his arms free, which his contraption does wonderfully.  As you can see, though, he is almost too long for it!  I hope he gains some control of his arms soon.

He already took his first plane ride.  We went to Colorado Springs to say goodbye to J-P's Grandfather Ted (where Caleb gets his middle name).  He passed away soon after we left.  It was a sad occasion, but a good trip.

I just had to include this picture.  I call this "Caleb the drunken sailor".  Mamma's milk is gooooood!

Greetings

So we've started this site primarily to share photos and videos of our family (both immediate and extended) for those of you who are interesting in keeping up with what's happening in our lives.
Caleb Theodore Oneschak was born August 14, 2008 @ 11:39 PM Pacific in Davis, CA.  Andrea had a total of 6.5 hours of intense labor,
and amazingly J-P was able to stay by her side (outside the birthing tub) through the whole process.
This family photo was taken a week and a half after Caleb was born.  More Oneschak news to follow.
